Does a NJ non-profit have to pay the New Jersey minimum business tax. If so, is there a way to argue for a refund?
Answer
The answer is no if you meet the following requirements. If your NJ non-profit is properly incorporated and operating as a non-profit corporation, then your organization is exempt from NJ business tax. This is noted in N.J.S.A. 54:10A-3(e)
